I’m so thankful for the hundreds of people who came together to sprinkle hope to some awesome ladies this Christmas. Their children had such a fun time, they were encouraged and had an afternoon of laughter, smiles, tears and HOPE.

Do you feel the excitement? Does the thought of Christmas get your mind ready to jot down a list of those you want to get gifts for? Isn’t Christmas simply the BESTEST ever time of the year? I say “yes” but many moms out there are already dreading this time of the year.
It breaks my heart to think that there are mothers who want to provide a magical Christmas for their child and they have no hope of doing so. It kills me.

WHAT CAN WE DO?
I’m so glad you asked! Here is what can be done! We can pull together our resources and make a magical Christmas happen for these kids. We’d like to host a HUGE Christmas Party for the moms and the Kids.
We here at Spreading Joy have a plan, we just need some help! We need heroes that will help make this happen. Maybe your church, your place of employment or your family can help with these things. Will you ask? Will you click the link and email it to several people?
We want you to know that 100 % of your donations will go for the children. I am personally making donations to cover any expenses that we will incur for the administrative side of Christmas Joy – for example: thank you cards, stamps, dessert & drinks not donated etc.
Here are some things that you can help us with!
1. Make a Donation! – no matter the size, it all helps. If you can give $100.00, please do. If you can only give $10 – then that is awesome, too.
2. We need supplies – wrapping paper, tape, scissors, name tags, huge black trash bags (to carry gifts home in) and some gift bags (standard medium size) – Maybe you’d consider having your company do a wrapping paper collection. This is a huge expense for us and would allow us to use our funds for extra toys.
3. We need TOYS – Would you purchase 1 toy a week and send them to us? Ask your company to do a toy collection for us! (especially if you are in NC) We will list the organization’s name and link to their website as a thank you! We are looking for toys that are valued around $15-$20 bucks, but if they were on sale that is ok, too. I can meet you and pick them up. TOYS…. we need TOYS!!
If you are an organization that will help with this, simply put out a LARGE box Wrapped with Christmas Paper and put a sign on with dates collecting toys. Send out an email asking for people to bring them in. Please do let me know you are doing this as I’d love to list you on here with a link to your site as a thank YOU.
4. We need Gift Cards – $10.00 in value to Wal-mart or McDonald’s – This is helpful for teen boys!
5. We need workers – If you are in the Charlotte-Metro area and can come and help us, we need YOU! We need people to set up and manage the food. We need people to man the gift area to make sure that everyone gets their fair share. We need people to help the Mom’s wrap presents. We will need set up and clean up help. We will need people to pick up the food that is going to be donated. AND we will need people to help get the ladies, kids and the presents HOME! We NEED YOU!

If you’d like to teach your children the JOY of giving – have them mail in their donation and regardless of the size, I’ll mail them back a special card thanking them for their GINORMOUS gift!
If you would like to make a donation to Spreading Joy “In Honor of” – please put the name of the person in the notes section of paypal along with their address and we will send out a special card to them telling them that a gift was made in their honor.
The same principal applies to a gift for “In Memory Of” – give the name of the family and we’ll send a special card to them as well.
The end of the year is close; do you or your organization need a tax break? All of your donations are tax deductible as allowed by the law. What a wonderful way to end the year AND get a break on your taxes! Many corporations need this, so would you ask someone in your HR department if they would make a donation to us. While you are there, designate your Matching Gift to us. Many organizations will match your charitable contribution.
Whatever the reason you help, know that you’ll be providing some magic on Christmas Morning for some wonderful little boys and girls as well as giving some Mom’s a little hope by showing them that people truly do care.

Teen Challenge Women’s Ministries - has adult women’s centers in Arkansas, Missouri, & Tennessee. We are a faith-based discipleship program for women ages 18-up who’ve lost their way through addiction, depression, eating disorders, abuse, etc. We’re a long-term residential program that doesn’t charge monthly fees so it’s available to everyone regardless of their financial situation.
