This year has been a roller coaster of emotions.
I’ve been thinking lately on all the lessons that I’ve learned this year and here is a quick list of 30 things that I’ve learned.
I have learned:
- Time together is a priceless gift
- Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and those that truly love you will always see the beauty
- Laughter and joy are contagious and we as a society need to do more of it on purpose
- Changes usually end up for the best, even though the process is difficult sometimes
- Pain is pain and it all hurts
- Sometimes a phone call softens the horrid blows life throws at you
- Just because something didn’t turn out the way we expected doesn’t mean we failed
- Today is most important as tomorrow may never come
- The pain, struggles and issues of today help to prepare me for tomorrow
- Sometimes all you can do is cry
- Yesterday can create a wiser today which creates a brighter tomorrow
- That no matter how hard I try sometimes, that “it” just isn’t going to happen…and it’s ok
- That there is beauty in brokenness
- To focus on facts instead of feelings, because feelings can be and often are incorrect
- Those that push us away need us the most
- The legacy you leave is your choice
- That even though your heart is in a million pieces that you can still love greater than you ever imagined
- Unconditional love is such a gift
- That sometimes there is just no understanding…that’s just the way it is
- That even if it’s a good thing, it might not be good for you
- Not to let the bad times steal the joy of the moment
- That there will always be “something” going on, but more importantly the Lord is always by my side
- Not to let the shallowness and criticism of others define who I am and what I do
- That no matter how bad it gets, it will always work out for good….always
- That spreading joy without expectation of anything in return has a far greater return than anyone can imagine
- Anything that isn’t finished today, usually waits until tomorrow and it’s ok
- That when I can’t even speak that uttering a simple prayer of “Lord, help me” can bring waves of grace and peace
- That there is always hope
- That I’m not going to please people, so I’m just going to focus on pleasing the Lord
- That doing a little is better than doing nothing at all
Even though this is a mixture of good and bad…it’s truth, it’s real and authentic.

Marie, you so encourage me with your steadfastness and reliance on Jesus to provide you strength and comfort on a daily basis. I don’t even know all that you and your Family are going thru but that which you share on Social Media allows us to count the many blessings that our Lord gives us every day, your experiences and your reporting of them make a huge difference in our outlook of our lives and it gives us an opportunity to minister to you in prayer lifting up your concerns to the Creator of the Universe, how awesome is that.
And the Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8 KJV

I know beyond doubt that it is due to the prayers of so many faithful friends that we/I make it. I also know that God gives me this so that I can remind people that they too, will make it and can have joy along the way.
Thank you! you are a blessing in my world, and I’m thankful for you!
Hi Marie – I loved your post and I loved the practicality of it. I believe our walk is a daily one and a practical application of the bible, God’s word and how He leads and guides us every day. Again, great post. You left a comment for me over at Encourage 24/7 about your link you left in the blog directory. I have deleted it and would love for you to re-submit it with the hope that the pic will show this time.
God bless
Tracy

Done!! and thank you for checking us out – and spreading joy!
sometimes a little encouragement is a world changer!!
I learned that not all people who have been with you is your friend only those who will be there for you.
I understand… sometimes the worst pain is the feeling you have left over when you find out that someone you loved, trusted and thought was a friend is not.
keep holding on to the true friend…those are the ones that matter

Thank you so much Marie…I have also learned that life doesn’t become easier we must become stronger and courage because the Lord is with us and will NOT leave us.
So true. We do become stronger, day by day – as our faith is strengthened.. I love that no matter what, God will never leave us and is right in the middle of every thing!
thank you for adding to the conversation and for the wonderful reminder!

I think the lyrics to an FFH song helps describes one of life’s lessons that I have learned in my walk with Christ. “Trouble may find me, but it’s not going to keep me down. Cause I’ll hold on tight to the Father that loves me and likes having me around. He loves me, he cares for me and so I’ll be. Alright” No matter what life throws my way, as long as I hold on to the Father, I’ll be Alright.
I love ffh as they have lyrically rich songs. i just love the fact that Christ walks with us 🙂
thank you for adding to this conversation!
