I know this sweet family who volunteers every single chance they get for Spreading Joy’s events. The mom and girls even help pack the bags for our Back to School Event!
Tonya and Sam are just your normal mom and dad of 5 kids. They’ve never had a whole lot to boast of, but they are full of love and love to help others as much as they can. They do exactly what Spreading Joy talks about – Doing what you can, with what you have. – That IS Spreading Joy!
This summer her husband, the breadwinner in the house suffered a major heat stroke. I wondered if he would make it. I truly did.
Not only did he make it, but he is home, going through therapy and getting better, stronger each day.
I know things will eventually work out but what about now? Right here…right now?
What about rent? What about groceries for 5 children? What about school clothes and such for the kids?
What about Christmas? Yeah…that IS right around the corner?

We never know when we will be in need…ever.
Please do what you can with what you have.
Maybe you’ll trade in a lunch out and donate the $10 to help this family.
Maybe you’ll give up a Starbucks or Dunkin Doughnuts Coffee and donate that to this family.
Maybe you’ll have a yard sale and donate half to this family.
Maybe you’ll just make a donation because your heart is overflowing with love, joy and kindness for others. You know, it’s that Spreading Joy thing that you do!
Big HUGS for your heart for others!

So many times we think we don’t have time to serve and be a blessing to others in our busy schedules, but I think there are so many creative ways to bless in simple, practical ways that flow seamlessly through our days. Thanks for the great reminder.
