Psalms of Comfort for the Weary

[Translate]

psalms of comfort for the weary

Is your heart weary and your days exhausting?  Do words of comfort elude you?

I love the book of Psalms.  I love the raw emotions and how that many times I can see myself right there in the thick of the pain and then am reminded of the victory God gives.  God is gracious to give us those verses to remind us that we are not alone.

Sometimes comfort is just a verse away but yet, our minds are exhausted and we can’t remember exactly where to look.

Here are 31 Psalms of Comfort for the Weary.

I purposely did not type out the verses for you because I want you to look at the Psalm in your Bible, on your Bible Gateway app or YouVersion app.  I want you to write it out and put it where you can see it several times a day.  I want you to print off this list and mail to someone who needs encouragement.  I want you to email this article to someone who needs encouragement.  I want you to wrap your heart around these verses each day and be comforted.

Each morning as you grab yourself some coffee and/or breakfast, get that days verse and let it bring you comfort throughout the day.

“Thank you very much, thank you very much, that’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for me.” (a musical version of Scrooge)

I sooooooo need this right now since I am in job search mode. Oh and I am weary from all the snowstorms as well.

    Many, many blessings to you.

This list of Psalms caught me and I began a conversation with friends ” Psalms with Friends” in Portuguese with a bunch of acquainted or longtime friends. Someone originated a line of thoughts around my dad’s ministry. Some made me read and write and meditate. I’m still working on it till the 30 or 31 friends will come to the reading. Meanwhile, I’m learning.

That is a great list – and yes the psalms are so full of comfort for those who are feeling weary – I’ve spent many months just reading through Psalms for encouragement. Recently I’ve gotten a good amount out of Isa 40:28 – while obviously not psalms, it is a good pick me up for those weary moments.

I love Psalms as well. Anytime I know I need to feel God’s presence but not sure what I need exactly, I turn to Psalms. There is something there no matter what I am feeling. Great list!

I love that you did these verses in green and red for Christmas. I am very close to someone who always has a hard time during this season. Hope is much needed! I also like that you want people to look up the verses. There is a certain power in seeing them straight from the Bible–even when it is digital!

I love the part where you encouraged us to wrap our hearts around the verses you provided and let their messages comfort us. My heart and soul had been confined in a dark place recently and I feel like nothing would ever feel right in my life after the divorce. It might be better to read the Bible frequently as you have advised and seek comfort in our God.
