Write back Soon Review on spreading-joy.com

Each year we host a Christmas Party for the community we encourage and each year we usually have a hard time getting items for the older children.

I was searching for ideas and came across this book Write Back Soon by Karen Benke and thought it would be a huge addition for the gifts for the young ladies that would be attending.

It absolutely was!

We paired it with colored Pencils and some stencils and they were all taken!

It’s such a great book!

This book is filled with chapter after chapter of ideas, prompts and inspiration to reach out to others in your world via pen and paper!

From “Kinds of Correspondence” to “Gifts to Include in an Envelope” You have almost 200 pages of ideas to get those creative ideas flowing from your mind to actual paper!

Reminding you to write on the “Specific Days of the Year like National Handwriting Day, Do A Grouch a Favor Day, Thesaurus Day etc.  there is no shortage of ideas here!

In a technology driven world, this book is refreshing and inspiring!

Benke even reminds us about the potential of the Letters’ Return.  As many people do, her friend saved all of her handwritten notes and left them for her, reminding her “we’re all on loan to one another.”

I personally love sending my children and great-nieces and nephew postcards from my travel.  When I’m blessed with grandchildren, I’ll do the same for them.  Knowing someone is thinking of you while they are on vacation is pretty special!

Again, this book is packed with ideas so that you can grab paper and pen and easily get a just because letter/card in the mail.

Because I love Snail Mail and want you to send more letters, I’m giving a copy of this book away.

Simply leave a comment below about a letter or card you received from someone and how it made you feel. Easy right?!?

I’ll draw a winner on 2/14/17

Karen has other books – Rip the Page and Leap Write In!  Sign up for her “Muse Letter” there as well and continue to be inspired.

I think last note I got was from my husband. He thanked me for being his wife. And said how much it meant to him that I am here for him. God sure has blessed me. Will be 39 years in a bout a week we been married. That letter he wrote melted my heart. Mt saying on couples is you treat your man like a king he will treat you like his queen. I cherish every letter or note I get from him. We still like to write each other even when I send to his office.

Congrats! Keep a marriage like a honeymoon. I know I love my husband a 100% more then I did that day! Sometimes I wonder if we really grasp what love is.. I think it grows and blooms in time. Through good times and through trials we grow together. May the Lord bless you with many more.

That book looks awesome! I live in a small town where thank you cards are exchanged for everything imaginable. So the last card I got was a thank you note. It was for something I do all the time, but it meant a lot to the person who sent it. It made me feel a little guilty for not sending more thank you notes myself if I’m honest… But it also made me feel good to know that I was appreciated.

My daughter (who is 14) is the best letter writer. I travel for work and she is constantly sneaking handwritten notes into my suitcase or slipping cards into my books. It’s not just that she takes the time to write, it’s that her letters contain so much detail. Makes my heart want to explode. This book sounds fantastic! Off to Amazon to check it out!

I loved this idea! We send out a lot of cards and get some back. It makes us feel thought of, and loved, and we enjoy remembering special times with the people who sent us the cards.

Oh I love the idea of this book! I was just thinking thae other day I wanted to teach my kids to send more letters and this book would be great to have. I recently found a letter my grandmother sent to me when I was 5 and it was such a joy to see her words in her handwriting especially since she is not around any more.

I am very leery about meeting up with friends I’ve made online. After saying that I did open my heart and friendship up to a woman and her mother. They both were members of a group I belonged to in yahoo groups many years back. We have stayed friends, although many states apart, all this time.

I absolutely love to get letters in the mail from the mother who is in her late 70s. I hardly ever get written mail and I absolutely treasure our friendship.

When my husband and I were dating, we would leave each other letters tucked into special places. Finding a letter from him would make me feel so loved and cherished. We should definitely start doing that again.

We sponsor two little girls through One Child Matters and about 4-5 times a year we receive letters from them. One of the girls we have sponsored for almost 6 years! It’s amazing to read about how she has grown in Christ, she’s becoming an amazing young lady. I cherish each letter we get and love the pics we sometimes get.

When I was 8 years old I wrote a letter to my grandparents with my butterfly stationary saying I didn’t want to live anymore. That marked the beginning of three and a half decades of my grandparents not only writing me letters of encouragement but for years, gifting me journals — a safe place to pen my heart to God. I still have the first journal they gave me at 8 years old — full of entries of my conflicted but redeemed childhood.
