A Prayer for the Discouraged

[Translate]

A prayer for the discouraged

Prayer for the discouraged

Father, please allow your discouraged child to wake up with a new determination and resolve that much like Abraham that he/she will have to courage to simply GO.

We don’t know the destination, but we know that you are with them every step of the way.

Thank you that your promise to meet all of our needs still ring true today.

Thank you that you are there…. In the midst of the unclear.

We love you and continue to trust you in Jesus name, Amen.

Hebrews 11:1 – Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Verses to encourage:

  • The Lord remains faithful forever Ps 146:6
  • The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down V8
  • The Lord hears the broken-hearted and binds their wounds Ps 147:3
  • the Lord sustains the humble
  • The Lord is near to all who call upon Him in truth Ps 145:18

Are you or someone you know going through a time of discouragement? It happens to us all.

How do you comfort someone who is struggling on a daily basis?

How do you encourage someone who feels like God isn’t listening? What do you tell them?

My flesh and my heart ? faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psalms 73:26 pic.twitter.com/97xwn0apHZ

When a friend or loved one is discouraged, I find myself praying for them. I may even go so far as to give the scripture to look up .

Thank you! What a breath of fresh air first thing in my morning. God is so wonderfully faithful. The lover of our souls, the lifter of our heads, our comforter, advocate and stand by. He’s an ever present help in times of trouble. The more I learn about Him the more I can’t help but love Him. Who else will ever love us so much? Besides scriptures, I saturate myself with music that tells about his WONDERFUL love and character. This is one of my current favorites (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TG6s8DxQJ5w). God bless you Marie for your encouragement. Keep it coming. We all need reminders daily to stay in the battle.

Psalm 73 is one of my absolute favorite scriptures for when I feel discouraged. Shifting my focus from myself to God my Rock enables me to have peace and renewed strength and hope. Thanks for sharing!
