My children were growing up in the 90’s and like nearly every child, they loved Full House. Watching DJ Tanner grow up into a young beautiful Christian Lady has been such a joy.
I was thrilled to receive her book, along with some of her favorite things to share with you!
Living in this world as a Christian isn’t easy. Living in Hollywood as an Actress with Christian Convictions is extremely difficult I would imagine and yet Candace Cameron Bure did and is doing just that.
She decided that once she was chosen to participate on DWTS (Dancing With The Stars) That she would be mindful of the outfits she wore as well as some of the dance moves.
Her book Dancing Through Life talks about her journey during this time and the courage it takes to take a stand, even when you are standing alone. Have you been there? Have you had to stand up for your convictions?
Mrs. Bure states she had the prayers of her community, family and friends and that is why she knew she could step out in faith and then she says “It’s also why you can step out in faith and do something out of your comfort zone.”
I loved reading this book about her journey and time on DWTS. I loved hearing about how she had hoped to get one certain star and she did! I loved reading about time and time again her faith and love for the Lord kept her grounded.
There was one thing I didn’t love reading and that was how people sent such horrible emails to her. I don’t know if they were Christian or not but seriously, none of them were necessary. It doesn’t take much to be kind and encouraging and no matter who you are you always appreciate words of kindness. Actress, teacher, mom, administrative assistant, and I could go on and on, we all love kind words.
Enough with the negativity already. Enough with the hateful emails, horrible tweets on Twitter and Facebook posts. Enough of that.
Encourage someone daily.
I encourage you to get this book. I encourage you to do so because one day you may have to stand alone on your convictions. Will you have the courage?
I also encourage you to Retweet the encouraging Message I sent Candace below. There are enough negative emails and tweets in the atmosphere, let’s show her some kindness and respect and encourage her to keep standing up for her Lord.

Some of my favorite quotes:
- I don’t want to be a better, but fake version of myself
- When God’s got your back, you are free to respond to even your harshest critics with grace.
- Being open about my weakness marked a turning point in the journey for me
- He wants your story to point to a bigger story of His great love for each of us
- God is still using me and allowing me to do it [share the gospel] simply in a different format that fits and fulfills who God inherently created me to be
Candace, when I pray for my children to know God’s will for their lives, I also pray for them to have the courage for them to step out in faith to do it. Thank you for sharing your story of faith and courage while doing what you love!

*I kept the book and Bible for myself and had great fun spreadingJOY and giving away the other items.
So – Tell me, have you ever had to stand up for what you believe? Did you have to stand alone? We are seeing all over the news that it’s becoming more and more apparent that we as Christians are going to have to start making stands. If you are not in God’s word daily, like Candace says she had to be, you will NOT have the courage to stand when the time comes.
