We dream big dreams and try to accomplish huge, lofty goals. While there isn’t a thing in the world wrong with that, sometimes we let those desires keep us from doing what we can to do to impact others right around us.
Sometimes…we forget that making a difference for JUST ONE is just as great as making a difference for a multitude.
Just one seems so small to our hearts.
Just one seems so insignificant in this huge world.
Just one seems like a waste of time.
May I remind you that even though you are helping “just one” that there is no way that you’ll ever know where that ripple effect will end! The ONE you help will likely go on to help others, and then they will help others and so on!
Why do we forget about that? Why do we negate the impact that we have on one heart simply because we want to impact hundreds of hearts.
Just one is good enough for the Lord. The Bible tells us in Luke 15:7that there is rejoicing in heaven over ONE soul that comes to know the Lord.
JUST ONE
The boy who brought Jesus his lunch of loaves and fishes didn’t have enough to feed 5,000 men, much less the women and children that were present but he GAVE WHAT HE HAD and Jesus blessed it!
When God blesses your efforts, it doesn’t matter how it started out because He will use it in ways you can’t imagine!
Don’t focus on “what” you are giving or how big or small you feel it is. Focus on the fact is you ARE giving what you have and when you can give more, you’ll do so simply because you already are giving.
Let me encourage you to keep dreaming big, keep accomplishing huge things but in the mean time, do not miss the amazing blessings that come from helping just one person at a time.
Remember:
- Just One smile can renew a weary spirit, heal a broken heart and add joy to the worst of days
- Just One hug can break a language barrier or even the thickest wall of anger
- Just One note of encouragement can carry someone through a world of hurt
- Just One I Love You has the power to remind someone who feels alone just how important they are
- Just One phone call, text or email can lift the spirits of someone that feels like that have been forgotten or that they are invisible
- Just One Thank you has the ability to inspire gratitude in the hearts of many
- Just One positive attitude has the power to affect everyone around them because JOY is infectious
- Just One person standing firm and showing courage will give courage to others to do the same
JUST ONE – is larger than you can imagine
Think back for a moment on the times that Just One person encouraged you.
Remind your heart how Just One thing inspired you.
You’ve been there. You’ve had it happen to you and it was simply amazing! When you are the “Just One” that encourages and inspires, you are giving that same heartwarming feeling you received.
Inspire us below by telling us about a time(s) when Just One person or something they did inspired you!

Hi Marie,
Thank you for your joy filled post. After I read each line I couldn’t help but smile and agree, as I believe in the importance of showing love to each person, to never devalue that 1 to 1 care. In a world where numbers seem to talk loudly, I’m much more interested in 1 – drawing near to someone in pain, encouraging someone in their difficulties, being there for someone … it’s never wasted. Thank you for your encouragement.

When a stranger helps instead of saying “oh you have your hands full” (even if they say it, helping with the full hands goes much further)… I had several packages to mail and had to park across the street from the post office. A two-year-old, a seven-year-old and a diaper bag in addition to the boxes – this was not my most brilliant idea. Thankfully, a kind stranger did help, noticing my full hands.
