Kindness, such a gift in our hurry up and be done world isn’t it? Kindness is so rare these days it’s often misunderstood as something else.
Sometimes people think kindness is a sign of weakness, but it’s nothing more than… kindness.
Sometimes people think kindness is flirting when in reality the person is actually being…wait for it… KIND.
In a world where people are always looking out for the best deal and the most they can get, kindness is a rare gift.
Kindness Matters!
This next week let me challenge you to take some time to simply be kind. Seriously – try it! You’ll be surprised.
Ways to be Kind:
- Be kind to the person checking you out at the grocery store. Long lines are not their fault
- Be kind to your server when your food is delivered wrong. They didn’t do it.
- Be kind to your spouse when they didn’t do things as expected.
- Be kind to your child when they try, but didn’t do as well as you thought they should
- Be kind to those in traffic around you. Leave a little early if you get grumpy like me in heavy traffic. (Yes… very very grumpy)
- Be kind at work when you’ve done something 10 times and they ask you to change it again. (Not even kidding, this JUST happened and I had to shake my head)
- Be kind to the elderly in the store. Ask if you can help them to their car. Get the door for them. Show some respect! They paved the way for us today
- Be kind to your neighbor. Sure you wish they wouldn’t cut grass at 6 am on a Saturday morning. Get up and bake them some muffins.
- Be kind to those behind you in line. If someone has 1 item, let them go ahead of you
- Be kind to those in the drive through behind you. Purchase a little something for them and use THIS card to give to the person taking the money.
- Be kind to the environment. Recycle, reuse and use those crafty talents to make something out of nothing. If you are like me and have ZERO crafty talents…recycle.
- Be kind to your Small Group, Sunday School Class or other Christian Group setting. Give some extra cards this week. Extra hugs are good too. Show some extra kindness to them.
- Be kind to your Pastor. Ok, this should be monthly…yes! MONTHLY. No reason the Man of God in your world shouldn’t hear that you appreciate him monthly. And his wife. Go…right now and do it.
- Be kind to others in need. Yes, so many are in need. Will you do something for them? We are starting to collect donations for #Back2School and $10 or $20 would be HUGE to a child that doesn’t have the proper school supplies. That is a whole other Blog Article but seriously – – won’t you take a moment and donate a little kindness to those in need. We have NO PAID employees here at Spreading Joy. All Volunteers. So your donations go to help others in need.
I’d love to hear about your week of Spreading Joy by being kind. Will you take ONE minute and share below how you impacted your world with a little extra kindness?
That would be mighty KIND of you.
Thanks for Spreading Joy! Thanks for being kind! You matter…. even when you don’t feel like it, you do! Kindness Matters. One tiny act of joy is like a mountain of Kindness to the hurting heart!

I try to live in such a way that everyone I meet can see Christ in me. For me that means being kind in all situations. Yesterday, I was on the phone with my home warranty company after two month saga trying to get my washer fixed/replaced. We’ve gotten a run around like I’ve never seen. It has been difficult and awful. But I resolved to treat “Kim” in such a way that she could see Christ in me even though I was angry and frustrated at her company. I know I feel better about our interaction when I treated her with kindness, even though I expressed my concerns about our treatment.

So true Jennifer. Sometimes that is the hardest for me too. I spent 5 months trying to get something replaced. 100 product. each time the person was no help and every time I got a new person to speak with, it was increasingly difficult not to be super rude to them.
Thanks for showing kindness in difficult situations.
It is such an important lesson to practice kindness. I can find myself so easily allowing my temper to flare up at someone simply because I am inconvienced. God says that Kindness is a fruit of the spirit so I am capable of showing kindness even when I think I am not.
Yeah Amy, I’m guilty of that too. Recently having some hormonal issues and I’ve had to truly fight my way through this very thing. Wasn’t so successful once and felt horrible for it later on that day.
Thanks for spreading joy and showing Gods love through kindness
I love this! Last year for my 30th birthday I did a ‘blessing’ for others everyday, but the reality is it shouldn’t just be ONE month I do that, but EVERY day! Thanks for sharing these ideas!
Thanks Caroline!

We need more kindness in this world! I will be implementing some of these ideas for sure. Thanks!

YES it is! and I’m thankful that we have someone that knows how hard it is to be kind in many situations but He was faithful to do so!
Love this, Marie! In our busy-rush-hurry-up world, I need to cultivate a lifestyle of kindness. I think the days I am focused on MY agenda, I’m less kind and when I’m asking God what His agenda for the day is- I SEE opportunities everywhere to sow kindness, love, joy…. Blessings and thanks for sharing!

Marvelous ideas! With everyone planning for summer, checking their beach must haves, may we not forget to bring along kindness and share it to everyone we meet. #bloggercare

The thing I love most about this post is that it is simplistic in nature and something EVERYONE can relate to in life. Kindness and the reality of being kind has been under-rated and even over looked both in and out of the church. Thank you for showing a lot of practical way to exhibit kindness and be an expression of the Christ’s love in the earth.

There’s a reason why I adore your spirit. Thanks for this reminder! Especially the at work one! Lord knows I need his help with that one. Praise Him
What wonderful suggestions to spread KINDNESS, Marie! I love them all. Spreading love, joy, and kindness are all easy things we should try to do in all our interactions with people. Thanks for the great reminder, Marie! Blessings to you and yours!

This is a wonderful list of ways to be kind to people, Marie! I do wish more people were kind in this world. Sometimes the people that are the most unkind to us, need the most kindness. They need to just be heard and it’s amazing how a small act of kindness can make someone’s day. Thanks for sharing, and blessings from #bloggercaregroup 🙂
