It takes strength to be firm; it takes courage to be gentle.
It takes strength to stand guard; it takes courage to let down your guard.
It takes strength to conquer; it takes courage to surrender.
It takes strength to feel a friend’s pain; it takes courage to feel your own pain.
It takes strength to hide your own pains; it takes courage to show them.
It takes strength to endure abuse; it takes courage to stop it.
It takes strength to stand alone; it takes courage to lean on another.
It takes strength to love; it takes courage to be loved.
It takes strength to survive; it takes courage to live.

Do you have strength? Do you have courage? If not, where do you get it? How do we have the courage to reach out and ask others for help?

What a wonderful message. Thanks for sharing this. We don’t always take the time to see the gifts that strength and courage give us. As an incest survivor, I often had the strength to reach out to others who were in pain themselves but having courage to reach out to those same people when I was in pain was harder to do.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I was having this conversation with my best friend because I did NOT have the courage to reach out for help with some recent events. While it is very obvious to me she’d give me the world, It all happened so quickly and I felt that no one was in a position to help, so I opted to go it alone. She was none to happy but it will work out in the end. It is so hard to have the courage necessary to reach out for help.
