Think you’re too small to make a difference? Think again!
- Put a tiny rock in your shoe and walk a mile
- Give a simple sucker to a toddler & watch their world light up
- Try ignoring that fly buzzing about your meal
- Leave that piece of dust under your contact
- Smile widely with a tiny piece of black pepper stuck to your tooth
- Watch what the ants will do with your slice of pie
- Remember the grain of sand that became a gorgeous pearl
- Think about the one smooth stone that took out a giant
- Notice how one spark can consume an entire forest
- One flicker of light pierces the darkest night
- 1 person “going” for it, gives courage to the fearful
- A reassuring smile brings hope
- Gaze at the GIANT oak that was once a tiny seed
- One single tear can soften the hardest heart
- The difference of one second…. That allowed you to miss that accident or plane crash
- Ignore that nail in your tire
- Leave that splinter in your finger
These are just a few that I quickly jotted down!
I’d love to hear YOURS! Please leave them below!

This is true. The smallest things do make a big difference. Think of all the tiny screws and bolts that hold up huge buildings. Sometimes, it is the smaller things in life, not the big ones, that matter most.
A single star led wise men to Christ Child known.
A single north star can guide a sailing ship home.
A single flame of a candle can help one to see.
A single signature on a declaration can help people to be free.
A single moment we pause, gives us a chance to pray.
A single act of Love, can encourage others on their way.
If you still think you are too small, given what you just saw,
Remember, it’s a tiny mouse that removed the thorn in the lion’s paw.
😀
…or for those that don’t know that children’s story re: thorn in lion’s paw, there is also another version where the mouse chews through the netting to free the lion. 😀
wow…this was sweet. so true…its the little things that tend to be the biggest impacts at times. Love your spirit sis:)
The gummy smile of a baby
The giggle of a child
The tender squeeze of a seniors hand
Blessing a stranger’s sneeze
Giving the homeless man a dollar

Those are some great small things which make a difference. Thank you for blessing me with yours.
The idea which led to the invention of the light bulb, telephone and the airplane.
One man obeying the command of God from a vision to rent a stadium in South Africa for a day of prayer and repentance in 2001. This led several South African cities to hold a day of Prayer and Repentance, which in turn spread to become a National Day of Prayer and Repentance in South Africa. This day has more than 200 nations observing a Day of Prayer and Repentance. It is still continuing to grow.
My favorite small thing is one man (Jesus) who began a church over 2000 years ago, who died for our sins, and the church is still growing today.
I have found that the small things are those I cherish so much.
Funny small little times, small favors, small moments of joy, they all turn into huge things that keep me going.
They help me to feel like there is hope, there is a reason to go on, to keep trying!
Yes,Think you’re too small to make a difference.

Wonderful list and responses. Made me smile with recognition. I’d add:
– giving a hug to someone who’s feeling down
– smiling at someone who’s new to the community
– dropping a coin for a child to find
– listening to a child’s dreams (and finding ways to make them happen!)
Thanks for inspiring these thoughts and conversations. The world thrives on JOY!!
